Industrial control is a general term that describes several types of control systems used in the industrial and infrastructure sectors.

It involves electrical and automation installation, typically in industries such as electricity, water, oil and gas. Specifically, it encompasses circuit design and modification, hardware and software functioning and fault finding. Measurement, installation, test commissioning and safety are also key aspects of industrial control.

Professionals mainly work on industrial sites and should be able to install cables, instruments and devices, as well as being able to problem solve in areas such as programmable logic and relay control.

Why did you decide to take part in WorldSkills?

The WorldSkills programme helped me go further and uncover unusual topics that are not usually taught. The chance to represent my country and my trade was another reason.
