Plastering and drywall systems is the development and decoration
of buildings using plaster and plaster products.
Plasterers can specialise further, becoming a solid plasterer or
fibrous plasterer. Solid plastering is applying wet finishes to
internal walls, ceilings and floors. Fibrous plastering involves
making ornamental plasterwork such as ceiling roses, cornices and
architraves.
The tools used by plasters in ancient Egypt are reputed to be
almost the same as those used today. However, some things have
changed and a modern form of plastering called dry lining is
becoming popular. This involves fixing internal plasterboard or
wall board partitions to frames ready for decorating.
