Web designers use computer programs to design and implement
websites, using both creative and technical skills.
The first web design was created by Tim Berners-Lee, the founder
of the World Wide Web, in 1991. Web design is a very new profession
and as such is still developing. Web designers regularly need to
learn new skills and then use them to develop innovative
solutions.
The fundamentals of this skill include knowledge of, and
expertise in, the technology and codes behind websites, user
interface planning, usability design and site administration.
Creative skills are also important; the use of colour, layout and
graphics on the finished pages can define a successful website.
